Putting eggs in the bator on July 25, does anyone wanna hatch along???

LoL Right after I said that I went out side to check on the eggs and I saw the mama off so I was wondering why she was off because she was off earlier today so I went in the coop and I lisned and I heard something moving in the nest and then I saw a tiny little crack in a silkie egg!!! Idk if I have my times off because I pretty much just guessed when she started sitting, or one silkie egg is hatching early!!!!
Awwwwww YAY! Good hatching vibes for your babies :D

Thanks hey its like 87 degrees were I live and the babys are hatching outside should I bring the eggs and the mama in side so they wont hatch were its hot and dry and they can hatch were its 67 degrees inside??

I'd leave them where they are, just to avoid disturbing her. Also, if they are going to live outside anyway, best to just let them hatch in the temperature they'll be out there in LOL! It's at least cooler than the incubator my little one will stay in for at least the next two days ;)

OMG!! Aschenfire it's so tiny!!! Wow. Just wow!

Whee!!!!!

First chick in our brooder. Silkie chick from a local lady. Its a week old and ADORABLE. What a ham too. It loves being held and hanging around on our shoulders. Follows me around the house already.

A VERY happy preschooler! She was expecting a chick when she got home from school and she got one. I'm actually really glad we ended up starting out with a week old chick because there was some serious handling issues at first. I think we have it under control now and the poor chick survived without anything getting broke, squished or stepped on.

The homemade hatcher and these are due to hatch Friday. We think the larger is a Silver Laced Wyandotte and the smaller egg is a Polish, I can't be sure because these came from an "assortment" of any breed from My Pet Chicken. They are marked SLW and PO. Went into lockdown this morning.

In the Little Giant Still Air we have 6 mutts going into lockdown as soon as these hatch, and 7 Barred Rocks/7 Delawares that are on day 7 today. I've been afraid to candle until going into lockdown because I think I lost one of my Cochins due to too much handling. I'm not going to touch anything else if I can help it.

Wow, they're just busting out all over! Although if mine started hatching this early, I'd be worried! Congratulations, Chicken Tamer!
