Putting eggs in the bator on July 25, does anyone wanna hatch along???

OKAY went to candle my eggs an hour ago and got this smell like an old cooked egg. Yep one was a rotten chicken egg and I had two infertile bob white quail eggs, unfortunate my only two, but I'm still blessed with four chicken eggs and nine Faroe quail eggs (one with a crack :-( but from what I could tell it's still alive :) ) it's getting difficult to see what's going on in the quail eggs all I can really see is the air sac and the white of the egg the rest is dark. If anyone has any a suggestions I could use it thuds is my first time hatching

Mine too, chucklecluck so unfortunately I'm not much help! If you got rid of the rotten one, I think all you can do is wait...

Today was fair also my eggs hatching was a dud the mama must of cracked it because it was a dud so I threw the egg out. Now Im wondering if any of my roos are fertile??? I have to check. Also fair went good didnt do the best but get 2 bucks and a ribbon.

Hey, that's not bad! Musta been doing something right

The competition at some of the fairs around here is pretty fierce.

And I'm sorry about your eggs! Did you check any of them for fertility before setting them? Crack a few fresh ones open, look for the telltale "bullseye" (there's an article somewhere on distinguishing fertile eggs in the learning center), if none or very few have it, your roosters are slacking!

Now its a race to see who "hatches" first.

Two eggs in the incubator, one bun in the oven. The eggs are day 19 and on lockdown. I go in at 6am for induction. I'm going to miss that hatch but its going to be a fun couple of days.

Oh my gosh!!! Congrats, litljenary, and I'm sure the eggs will be fine while you're 'hatching' out yours!!!

Give us an update when you get home, and all the best

Congrats to everyone who has new babies, and congrats and good luck litljenary! May everything go easily and quickly for you. ^..^

I think my other two eggs have quit... Will be setting a new clutch after the 20th so I'm hoping for a better hatch next time. The one baby I got is DARLING...It's not going to be black I don't think. It actually looks like a SUPER melanized partridge pattern. There are stripes barely visible. I had a spraddle leg scare with it this morning, with its little legs WAYYYYY out to the sides and it was unable to get its feet under it. I put on a hobble made of a tiny strip of duct tape but it had gotten it off one foot by the time I got home from work. It was on it's back/side, unable to use the one little leg. I took the hobble off, and put it in it's feather "Mama" hoping for the best. This evening, it is on it's feet, getting into the feed, walking around. Little thing is a fighter, and has won my heart already :D
