I am sorry that stinks. But hey, you still probably have 2!!!Boooo
Just tossed 5 out of my 7 cochin eggs. I candled and now its very obvious which have something and which have nothing. I broke them open just to be sure and it looks like a few weren't even fertile. One had a very small dot of blood but nothing else.
So two cochins left. One is the lightest egg of the 7 and you can clearly see him rocking and rolling. The other is the darkest egg of the bunch and its tough to see but I can see veins and something. I can't see movement but it seems like maybe it's a few hours behind the other one. I moved it closer to the first in the incubator in case it's in a cool spot or something.
Sorry, what kind of bator were you using? Are you gonna throw some more in?I gotta start all over again with new eggs, darn it ! I might make a foam incubator this time, though, so probably better hatch rates.

Do you have anything in the bator other then your Cochins?
I have already tossed two. I think I started off with 25. With my Tolbunt/ Marans I think 3 out of 5 aren't any good ( one is the one with a chip) I haven't tossed them though cause, the shells are so dark. I don't want to toss one and be wrong about it. I am pretty sure one of my Wheaton Marans is a goner. Again, though I don't think I will toss cause, of the color of the shell. The air sacs on my White Ameraucanas is bigger then it should be. I really don't know how well this hatch is gonna go. I guess since they were shipped eggs plus, I had that one dip in humidity.
I guess all I can do is cross my fingers and wait.
Good luck ya'll,
MIchelle
My first time too!! This is gonna be fun!!
My tracking number finally came. The order from MPC left the hatchery on the 26th. Coming from Arkansas, so my guess is Monday. Also getting some local barnyard mixes on August 1.
So, I'll have:
7 Red Cochin- set 7/26
12+ assorted breeds- set 7/30
12 mixed- set 8/1
Using a LG still air with automatic egg turner. Dry incubation (which is currently 48% humidity)
What is everyone else's setup?
