Putting eggs in the bator on July 25, does anyone wanna hatch along???

AHHHHHH Yesterday I was going to move the babys and mama to the bantam side because they were on the big chicken side and my dad said no let them be because more might hatch so I did. This morn I went to let them out and for some odd reason the came out running like crazy ( These are my big chickens) So I went in to see the mama and the babys and I heard peeping on the floor!!!!! I looked around and saw one of my babys on the floor!!!! She had a little bit of bloody noise and she would not open her eyes!!!! So I thought she was ok because she was still moving (a little) So I checked under the mama and there was only one more besides the one I found on the floor!!! I was missing one!!!!!!!!!! I looked all over then got my mom. She came in the coop and we found her. She blended into the ground because she was around the same color. So I picked her up and looked at her belly and legs to see if she was ok. This is were I freacked out!!! My babys leg was holding on by a thread!!!!!!! The top part is the middle is and one of her toes are!!!!!! I screamed and put her in one of the nests!!!! She had a bloody noise and would not open her eyes at all too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We moved the mama and the other two babys to the bantam side and the mama is being protective from all other birds. We took the baby and we know she wont make it!!! The other baby is not doing well too so we dont know if she will make it too!!!! It looks like she is only opening one eye and the other eye is staying closed and she will not open it. So if they both die all I will have is my white americana!!!!

Well, the five that I had expected to hatch all hatched by the time I woke up this morning -- even the one with the pip that my two rambunctious beasties had flipped over. Four from the white rock and marans dad, one from a partridge rock, also marans dad -- they all look the same to me! The two who hatched first are still the most rambunctious of the bunch, the other three are a little more subdued but all seem healthy and sturdy. The first two are a little ridiculous, though! I keep expecting them to start doing push-ups or lifting weights or something -- these are some seriously hale and hearty chicks! Why do I have this awful feeling they're both roos? It's very cute, though -- whenever I walk over by the cage they run up to the side, cheeping up at me :)

Anyway, the two with the teeny air cells haven't hatched, and I'm not really expecting them to, but I'm leaving them in for another day or two just in case. They've been knocked about, rolled around, climbed over... I would think even if they did hatch, their little brains will be scrambled, lol! But we'll see.

I'll post some pictures in a while. I wish I had a better camera than the one on my cellphone!
WOOT WOOT!!!!!!! congrats on the babies, can't wait to see the pics.

Awwwwwww man, I am so sorry...do you think the big birds were hurting the little ones? :< Hopefully they'll pull through for you.

I think I might be setting some more in a about a week in a half. I guess I will check back and see if you are doing a hatch. I think we are gonna try one more time to get a Birchen Maran/ Tolbunt.

I am for sure going to be doing another hatch. The breeder is sending me more eggs to try again. :D I am excited beyond belief! And sure, I'll post something once I get my eggs (they are being sent out tomorrow if all goes well)

Thanks Chucklecluck aschenfire and dandydoodle!!!! I just hope The one that is not as bad makes it so the other baby has a friend at least. The birds did hurt the little ones but I dont think on purpose because I have big geese and they tend to freek out whne something happens so maybe they saw or heard something and freeked out.

Got in there to take a look it was pieces of cat food lol, my hubby admitted to opening up the incubator to check on the chicken eggs shortly after feeding the cat. I removed the food added more water and closed it up. While in there I took a brief look at the quail eggs and they are three with tiny cracks pointing out ward on them, hgetting antsy, just want to sit in here all say and watch them lol.

That is TOO funny!CAT FOOD!uI got a big belly laugh with that

I have a hatch in 2 weeks...anybody have one then?.

Woot! The quails are hatching! I got up this morning and everything was the same as previous 24 hours, few pips and one crack. I had to leave the house for couple hours and when I got back had three baby quail! Within two more hours I had about 15 out.

This evening all but 15 of the 50 are out and so far only had one that didn't make it all the way out and had died already when I tried to help it. They are adorable, piles of tiny little striped chicks sleeping in the brooder. So exciting.

And ChickenTamer so sorry to hear about your chicks, so heartbreaking. :(

Another quail hatched few minutes ago went in to move the empty eggs and make room for the chicks to move around one more had a crack and I could feel in moving around inside looking forward to it hatching soon
