Putting eggs in the bator on July 25, does anyone wanna hatch along???

****. ******. ****. @*$&@?
Put a single egg into "lockdown" tonight. Already took it out.
The power has gone out, its been out about an hour now. The power company website says another hour. I have 24 eggs in the incubator, they kind of keep the temp up. I covered it with two jackets and a robe and I'm praying but my hatcher is so small and its made to have more visibility, the temp dropped to room temp in about 20 minutes.
I am currently attempting to go back to sleep with a red cochin that is 36 hours from hatching tucked up into my bra. ROFL.
I hope the power comes back soon. I don't want to sleep with 25 eggs tucked into bed with me, plus my husband probably would have a fit!!

YAAAAAUUGH!!! ACK! Oh gosh, litljenary, how are they and you doing this morning??? That's terrifying.

Now you've got me thinking -- little battery-operated heater in case of emergency... I wonder if they make those. Wouldn't be a bad thing to have!

Not in lockdown yet :< Tomorrow is the day ^..^ And don't feel bad, I have three in mine. Three tiny tiny tiny little Serama eggs. it looks almost empty LOL!

I will be starting a new setting later in the week once my new eggs arrive. Hard to leave the 'bator unemployed :D

Okay now I never guessed anyone on here was that young. I am a momma and I have to say if you are young you might not should say on the internet.

Sorry I am a worried momma and I wouldn't want my three kids giving out any information on the internet.

Yeah, definitely not advertising your age when you're that young is smart. Although I think it's wonderful you've gotten into raising chickens so early!!!

I'm going to be trying to resist setting more from my current beasties until I see how they grow out -- whether they're good producers -- whether I like the look of 'em, all that sort of thing

But we're talking six months before I really have a good idea of their laying capabilities!!! I may simply not be able to wait that long. Hmmm -- maybe I'll measure the chicken shed and see how many chickens it can actually hold. It's darn roomy in there with only 9. I think it's about 8x10 or so.

See> You need to think about Seramas! I have built stacking 2 x 4 x 2 pens to keep my birds in...though I think the youngsters will go out to the outside grow out pen once the weather starts cooling off. Then come back into the smaller pens once I know who is gonna live with who and all that ;)

Teeny, cute, friendly, a chicken rainbow!

Me too Cluckitall, unfortunately time is winning. I keep saying that I refuse to have anymore birthdays. I think I have been saying that for a few years now but, I seem to keep getting older.

It seems the older you get the faster the years go by. I think I have decided gravity is not my friend.

Oh gosh, tell me about it. Years are going by in four months, I swear it. Months feels like weeks, weeks like days, and days -- heck, I swear a day ain't hardly enough time to be worth getting out of bed for!
