i have about 20 mallard ducklings (this is my first time with ducks) that are 4 and 5 weeks old. The older ones are almost fully feathered. The low here is about 60 degrees at night. Can I move them outside to a covered chicken coop yet?

Also, i've put a baby pool in with them in their pen and sometimes a few go in but its been a few days since any have gone in on their own. Any ideas???

Thanks for the help and advice!!! lol

I have two ducks around the same age, I've always heard you needed to wait two months because that's usually the time they've gotten all their feathers. But if they are fully feathered before then I would suppose they'll be fine outside.

If it's reliably above 50 at night, it should be fine to keep them outside.

As for the pool, toss in some peas or greens, and they should be eager to go in.

Yes....They can go out full time...Lock them in the shelter/Coop at night with access to the run all day....
Ducklings at that age are more than ready to begin life outside....:frow
Yes, definitely close them in the coop at night for the first week or two, with water but no feed.
