Putting water in the feed

This is very interesting to me. I've added water to my pig's feed but never ti the chicken feed. A farmer told me that it helps the pigs digest more from it when it is wet, I wonder if it works the same with chickens.

I can't answer that, but I did exclusively use fermented feed for a batch of excess dual purposes cockerels once... and their gizzards were all smaller and softer than their non fermented fed counterparts. I'm guessing the soft feed required the gizzards to do a lot less work which might explain their softer feel and smaller size. The other major difference I noticed was that their poop had a great consistency, it was not messy at all and sort of looked like magnified worm casings.
I don't get all of those benefits when I just wet the feed instead of fermenting (for obvious reasons) but it does provide lots of other benefits.
