Don't know if this will help but is she from a LGD line? I know my two pyrs are from a show line. Not that they aren't great dogs but I have no idea how far back I would have to go to find a true working dog in their family tree. My collie on the other hand was absolutely from a working line. The breeder did show but she also wanted dogs who could still do the job they were bred for in the first place.

Not sure what LGD line means but she is from a guy that has several of them for gaurding his very large bird farm.

I too am thinking maybe the spay issue has something to do with it as she never did this before then.

Thank you all for the advice and if anyone has dealt with this and got it stopped please tell me what you did to stop it as I have tried everything I know.

LGD line would be "livestock guardian dog line".. those are the bloodlines that were bred to guard.. show dogs often have their original purpose bred out of them since they are being bred for looks and confirmation and not as "working dogs"

LGD is Livestock Guardian Dog. Sounds like yours came from someone who bred his dogs to guard so I guess my idea is out. But then again one of my pyrs, even though she comes from great show lines, was just not cut out for the ring. She is too shy around people. The breeder didn't know if it was genetic or environmental so she had the dog spayed and placed her in a pet home. Yet a litter mate is a fantastic dog in the show ring. And they were raised together. So who knows maybe your dog just isn't cut out to be a guardian. If possible I would find someone who knows about the breed and the job you need her to do. From what I have read this is a hard habit to break once it starts.

Giant breeds mature very slowly, and not all of them are good at their jobs

Not sure what LGD line means but she is from a guy that has several of them for gaurding his very large bird farm.

It means a long line of proven working dogs, and not some crossbreed or "yard dog" situation.

I think you can fix this dog with a shock collar and some patience.

You have to do it from a distance so the dog doesn't know you are there.

"Whipping it" will ruin her and keeping her tied or penned won't teach her anything at all​

I had a similar problem with my Pyr when I first got her, I contacted an obedience instructor via email and this is what she told me....
"when I get a new dog I put a training collar on that I get a response from and have them on a 20 ft long line…aka rope and for the first month and a half I hold it so I can correct them if they do not listen to my verbal…I can follow through. The word for the chickens , cats anything that runs and the dog goes….I’ll get that! I say in a booming voice…LEAVE IT!!!! With a correction at same time for first couple of days, then I stagger it…if they do not listen to the voice…the correction quickly follows. When I feel they are really responding to my voice well, I let the long line drag, so I can follow through if needed, until I feel things are great. It may take 2 , 3 or even 6 months, or more. Every dog has a different personality you have to work with."

Have only had my dog for a month and she is able to sit next to me on the ground while I hand feed my birds now, she still cant be trusted alone but has made huge improvement in just a few weeks...

I have a pyr/anatolian cross. Let me tell you the absolute worst punishment for him is a squirt gun filled with water. He HATES water being sprayed in his face.

I had tried just about everything as punishment for him, nothing worked, even the shock collar had no effect on him. He has nerves of steel. He is a wonderful dog and is still young at a year and half. The guineas and peacocks still interest him a bit much, but I can have him in the house and he is 100% trustworthy with my chickens inside. I have done mostly positive enforcement training, I just needed an effective punishment when he decided not to listen and that is the most effective. He had come to be 100% trustworthy with the outside birds as well but we have had setbacks with that, no fault of the dog's and a long story that is not relevant.

I did have his littermate and had to rehome her, as she had horrible issues with the birds and really wanted to be a pet. She just was not LGD material. We had her spayed as well at 8 months and the issues with her were not good to begin with and got worse with her after spaying. She started roaming the neighborhood, and she was a wonderful killer with an extremely high prey drive for small critters, she just didnt discriminate between skunks, mice, raccoons, and chickens. Coyotes could howl 100 yards away in our backyard and she wouldnt even raise her head if she was sleeping.

Thats where the issue comes in. She does absolutly great until I am out of pocket. As long as I am around she wont touch anything. She will stop ,sit,come lay and stay when told. But I cant be here 24/7.

As soon as she knows I am out of pocket she gets stupid.

I train beagles and other dogs. This one is smarter than me I guess

She knows exactly what she has done and that its wrong. As soon as I show up and shes done something she hits the dog house like a torpedo. I am going to try and use the collar and slip her again tomorrow. I just know we gotta get it understood permanent or I gotta loose one of the best dogs I have had. This is her only issue

Breeders will tell you not to spay/neuter until later age. I'd suggest to spay her ASAP. Fixing is the BEST thing you can ever do for your dog. Get her fixed, she will calm down, trust me... a giant breed dog in heat is not fun...

She will be a lot easier to train when her hormones aren't driving her crazy.
