Pyxis' Emu Chat Thread

Mary O'Brien ( formerly "the Warden, then "the sheriff) used to give a lot of information in the various threads she started.

I actually read a lot of her posts and her website :) It was fun to read through her hatching experience.

You should! If anyone is a hatching guru it's you
YUUUP I need this now. Thanks!

Little fishies for every incubator! Lol :p

PS you have been holding out on me. You didn't tell me of the super secret water wiggler voodoo.

Haha, I don't always use one, but I wanted to be very accurate for these eggs.

GAH! Too many choices on water wigglers...but they are all so cute!
Well it's a lot cheaper than buying one of those fancy egg thermometers that tells you the egg temp. What thermometer would you suggest I get to put inside one?

I have a very accurate aquarium thermometer that I use in mine - it's just a cheap thing I snagged at a pet store but I calibrated it and it is exactly accurate (they tend to be pretty accurate because fish are very sensitive) so one of those is a good choice. I also stick the probe of my digital reptile one in there. That one I know is .5 high from calibrating it.

Well, I couldn't resist and I changed my user title :p

So one of those floaty ones I can pick up at walmart? Still locked up on water wigglers. Fish, penguins, clown fish, butterfies ugh.

LOL epic! Yes. That suits you!

I use the kind with the suction cup designed to stick to the side of an aquarium. These are my thermometers:
