Pyxis' Emu Chat Thread

Egg A and B got tagged and weighed! Egg A is the biggest at 570.2 grams, and B is the smallest at 548.0 grams.

And, they're in the incubator! If you're wondering how many emu eggs can fit in a Brinsea Octagon 20, the answer is three, with just enough room in the back for a water wiggler and hygrometer.

So, incubation has officially begun.
Go little dinosaurs go!! :celebrate

My incubator is giving me fits! Or rather, the thermometers are. I'm pretty sure I have the incubator set to 97 - 97.5. My digital thermometer reads .5 high so I have taken that into consideration. However, it keeps reading like the temp is in the high 98s if I don't open the incubator for awhile and I don't like it. And it's getting older and might just be acting up.

The aquarium thermometer insists it's around 97, but it only reads in increments of two so I can't really be 100% sure what temp it is going off that. And my hygrometer's thermometer keeps going back and forth between reading 95 and 97.

Just :barnie

Might have to pick up another thermometer I guess. Oy.
