Amen! I had a duo in one tote, and a 4-some in another tote, (2 weeks apart, the older ones were afraid of the young ones and almost trampled them, so I separated them). Wow, they kept me busy.


Ducks are the worst poopers and they can prove it.

I have a brooder question for you expert hatchers... I need to significantly increase the number of hollands in my flock, so I'm thinking of setting eggs every ten days in the bator. Challenge is I only have two cells in my brooder (both 8x8), is it safe to integrate week old chicks with three week olds?

I've done it with 1 week olds and 4 week olds. If there is enough space and resources, everyone seems to do fine.

Usually 3 weeks will work. It depends on the breed though. Some are not as accepting of new comers to the flock
