Here's a non-egg related update, lol.

I have replaced the feed bucket I was using for the emus. The chickens were getting into it and eating all their feed, and then they started roosting on it and pooping in it, and now this was going on:

Super gross

So I decided to find something else to use, and it just so happened that there was a deer feeder on clearance on Amazon. It looked perfect; it had a lid, so if the chickens flew up on it, they couldn't make a mess or get at the feed, and the feeding opening was a small thing that the chickens couldn't possibly perch on and it was sheltered from poop from above by the top of the feeder.

So I got it installed:

Ciara took right to it.

I'd call it a success!

Emus aren’t like chickens. They don’t fling their food. They do drop a little cause they have to throw their head back to get it down. Mine will eat what they drop on the floor as well.

What FishMtnFarm said, and also there's 40 pounds of feed in there, lol. She won't be emptying it anytime soon.

Emus aren’t like chickens. They don’t fling their food. They do drop a little cause they have to throw their head back to get it down. Mine will eat what they drop on the floor as well.

Lol, weekly update!

All the eggs are losing pretty much as they should be. The big eggs still haven't wiggled though, which makes me nervous. I know that some eggs never wiggle until they hatch, but being that these are both in the same incubator, I get overly worried there was a heat spike or something that I wasn't aware of that killed them.

But that's probably just me being overly anxious We'll see for sure in about 12 days! Can you believe it's already that close to hatch time?
