Be very, very careful about trying to rehome or sell anything alive on FB. They are crazy. They won't even let you sell eggs because they are "animals/animal products".

i don't have facebook. i did find someone willing to rehome her who has an existing flock and lots of quail experience, but i'd have to ship her and that scares me. holding out for someone in driving distance...

I wouldn't ship a lone quail. I wouldn't ship live quail without NPIP certification and a lot of research at all. I think you're doing the right thing in waiting for someone in driving distance.

I have experience but currently only have one singular chick (we just moved and got our coop) I’m also in Roanoke but I would take her

I actually just provided a recommendation for a separate post so I'm just going to copy/paste here:

My quail is obsessed with her dust bath. I recommend the Kaytee chinchilla bath house. It's large enough to fit two if you have any others. I live in a sandy area so I just go outside and scoop some out for her to use and she loves it! If that's unavailable to you, you can order some sand or dust online. They will play in there for hours.
