I have what looks to be a pearl quail chick about 2 weeks old that has become lethargic and always stands in an upright position, adjusting her crop. I'm very new to raising quail chicks but my pharaoh quail seems to be doing just fine! They have access to water and food consistently, a clean cage and plenty of space! She has been a bit slow since I got her but it's never been this bad? Do you think she's just generally a weak chick or could it be something else?

She looks much smaller than your other chicks, and her feathers don't look healthy either. What are you feeding them?

It looks like she's the only one that is so small, so I suspect that she is one that is failing to thrive. You could try a vet, but I'm sorry to say that I suspect that she won't make it.

Update!! Great news! I was advised to give her a little bit of vitamin e in her water and she perked up over night! She's doing a lot better today and isn't acting lethargic at all! I'm going to continue to put vitamin e in the water until I'm 100% sure she'll be okay I don't know if the brand I'm using will be okay in the long run because it's meant for people so I want to find a vitamin e brand specific to quail.

That's great news! Keep us updated on her progress.
