Quail Chick Color Guessing Game!?

Definitely red range or scarlet or something in that neighborhood, and so cute omg It's a bit hard to tell if they're actually tuxedos or not at this age but that'll become clear in another week or so.

I am so excited, T-2 days to babies of all the birds I posted in this thread and more, plus some shipped eggs. Another hatch next week with even more of my homebred ones. I miss babies!!

Ok so what do you have hatching first and how many? And those are the babies of the gorgeous birds posted in this thread?

And what else ya got cooking?

I got 24 Schofield silver right now due to hatch Feb 23, today is day 5 - spot checked and found heartbeats on a bunch will check all later tonight. I have to swap them into the other bator, the one they are in is a bit crowded didn’t expect the eggs to be so big from KC - holy cow LOL!

That is what I thought about those two babies as well - something red. Yeah I think they are tux but like you said it is hard to tell right now, they may or may not be but we will see soon! Will certainly be interesting!

I'm so glad KC worked out so well; I might be ordering a batch of silvers, celadon layers, German pastels, and pansies down the road this summer. A German pastel male was actually the father of that blue hen, and I can't quite tell if she's got dual color action going yet so excited to see what she throws with my big beasty pharoah boy.


I want to say I have 33 due this week - about 25 pearl-fee/lavender/pastels and another 7 or so from my own pairs. Then another 25 or more due next week, all from my own. I think I have ~3 from my silver/blue italian hen paired with my roux dilute male, ~6 from my blue hen, and ~4-6 from my silver male and his Italian gf. Also a bunch from my avatar bird, my marble charcoal rosetta things, etc.

They may or may not all actually be viable - I haven't candled them in a few days and I didn't pull all the iffy ones last time. Dipping my bumblefoot case has taken more of my energy than would be ideal at this time.

Wow those are ALL gorgeous colors - in fact I looked at the pastels and almost got those and I also think I will too in a few weeks time when these are grown out a bit and the silvers have hatched. Those are so pretty!! The pearl-fee abs pansies are super cute and I would love to get a couple lavender.

Great can’t wait to see what pops out then! Gonna be fabulous!
