Quail Eggs of all colors?

Beyond frustrating. Especially b/c we know it was a group of kids in the neighborhood. There have been a string of these robberies and one of the kids even ratted out a couple of the others. Still there haven't been any arrests!

Yes, there were a few eggs that were white with not a single speck of color. Not as brilliant white as the chickens from the store but not blueish like the others were either.

If these eggs were mine I would post a picture. I had seen them at a friends house when she was hatching some that she got from someone else. She doesn't even have Coturnix but I maybe getting a few of the chicks from these eggs. Even so it would be weeks before they lay. I am kicking myself for not taking pictures of anything on my trip to her house! I'd assume they have hatched all out now. I too would love to know if this is a trait that can be breed for or if it is just how some birds happen to lay one day.

My quail tend to lay the same color eggs every day. Then some hen will want to rock the boat and throw a strange one
My birds lay green blue and tan most are milky thou I have 2 that lay shiny eggs. I know it is hard to see the pale colors in the picture I posted

Just curious if any one has any blue or green cortunix eggs they could show some pics of.I didnt know they came in either of these color.
I have 3 hens and I got these over the last few days. One of them (she's separated because I was given too many males by accident so she's with one of them by herself) has laid 2 speckled ones and then today threw on that's almost solid brown. We're new to quail so I was surprised! The one on the right has a green tint to it. Not sure if it's considered a green egg though. Lol

I just wanted to point out that this thread is almost 14 years old and the person to whom you replied hasn't been seen on BYC in over 3 years.

That said, my coturnix usually lay the same color eggs, with rare exceptions.
