Hi all
I have quite a few males that I am needing to butcher, all my quails have been on a maintenance feed however now I have sexed them I have way too many males. Do they need to be on a finisher (I am assuming so) before butchering and how long do they need to be on it for. They are 10 weeks old

Higher protein feed will just add fat. If they are at a butcher weight, I'd just go ahead and process them, rather than adding more to the cost per bird, plus it won't add any 'taste' difference to the meat.

Thank you I had planned to butcher them around 10-12 weeks anyway. I havnt weighed them yet so will have a look at that first
