You can use zip ties, but I buy bands and use them because they aren’t strong enough to cut off circulation. I buy xs. Small fits adults, but not chicks, and xs can be put on as chicks and stays on until grown and will eventually fall off.

I did the same, I don’t use them too often tho, usually marking males I saw crow.

But- Say, I dont have my incubator yet, and my quail has a fertile egg, how do I get her to go broody and sit on it..?

They don’t usually go broody. Some will and some won’t, and some literally half ass it haha. My broody will sometimes sit on them and lean over and they aren’t covered, they’re just really flakey at it.
