Sad, I hope no more get out anymore. Also sad update. One of the littlest quails I guess got out without me knowing and I found him dead behind the enclosure (the enclosure is behind a shed that I have so the quail was somewhat under the shed) it looked like it had been dead for at least 4 days. I never saw it try to get back in but it was dead right next to the enclosure. I'm curious as to when and how it got out. So I'm down to 29 healthy quail and 1 splayed leg quail.
Are you quail man!!! But with an army of quail!!! BUM BUM BUM!!!maybe that was my goal all along

Have you been providing them with anything to help them keep cool? I use 2 litre bottles filled 2/3 with water and then frozen. Some people use misters, and they should never, ever run out of water.I have good news and bad news. The good news is, the eggs I ordered shipped today and should be here by Thursday-Friday. The bad news is one of the youngest quails is having a seizure and I have done everything possible to help him but he just won't improve. I hate to say it but I don't think he will make it past the night. The temperature here has been 105-110 F on average throughout the day.
Bring it inside, give it Nutri-Drench, drop wise with a syringe, every 15 to 30mins. until it cools down! I had a pheasant that would lay directly under a heat lamp until it would get heat exhaustion, and have seizures.
Yes I brought him inside about 5 hours ago and did that, nothing helped. They always have fresh water and a pan of ice water and ice bottles to stay cool. He passed away just nowHave you been providing them with anything to help them keep cool? I use 2 litre bottles filled 2/3 with water and then frozen. The seizures could come from overheating.
