Quail hatch. Follow along.

Well sorry for not posting a lot I’ve been busy. They are starting to hatch right now. Only 15 out of the 27 eggs made it to lockdown. 6 have hatched so far and one is currently zipping.

Oh wow!!! My notifications for what ever reason were not telling me about this. Congratulations!!!

Yup, 1 has a splayed leg and another one I helped hatch is questionable on if he will survive. The other 8 chick's are doing fine and running around all over the place.

I recently found out that you can make a hyprid of old world quail. For example, Bob White and Gamble quail. The hyprid look really cool!

I think I might try to make this hyprid if I find any Bobwhites in my area! However I thought you might want to know about this. I'm not sure if you'd want to make this hyprid or what you think about making hyprids, but I'd love to hear your option on this!

That looks awesome! I’ll definitely try it if I have any leftover females. Thank you for the idea. I’ll definitely look into it.

Well I have some incredibly sad news, only 6 survived from the 10 and 3 of those 6 had splayed legs. I took them outside to introduce them to my other quail and I left them in there for an hour and they were gone when I came back along with a couple of the gambles. I noticed the gate was open as well. I checked the trail camera to see what happened and a cat opened the gate and snuck in. I’m sure you know what happened next but 3/4 gambles that disappeared reappeared about an hour ago. As of now all of my snowflakes are gone.
