Quail made an egg call but no egg

I only use a little of quail mix, I mix a bit wild bird seed, quail seed and it is mostly crumble.
Stop mixing these things and feed ONLY the crumble.

I have never heard one of my females scream or make a noise when she lays an egg.

Can you catch the sound that you're hearing on a video and upload it to YouTube?

The one laying down outside of that plastic dish is a male.

The one in the sand is male, and I don't think I can capture the sound, just search up quail egg call and you'll find it. Thanks for advice on the seed mix.

So, you have one male, and one female? That's too many males. One male needs at least three hens, preferably five. She has no place to rest her feet from the wire and no hiding places. The cage is small for them unless you are intending to keep them like a commercial breeder where they stuff 3/square foot.

I'm guessing that she's stressed. The egg song sounds a lot like an unhappy bird, so I'm guessing that she's not laying because she's not happy with her environment.

Try to capture the sound your bird is making please.

You just got 2 quail a week ago?

The move is part of the problem.
The things you've mentioned here that you are feeding are part of the problem.
The stress of only 2 birds is part of the problem.

You have a lot of different things going on.

I read online that they sometimes do an egg call/cry that while laying, the cage is 3 feet wide and 16 inches tall, I plan on upgrading it and getting more quail soon.

She has laid in that cage before

I plan on changing all of that, I was going to change the cage, change the food, get more quails. I want to change this by the end of the month, and I got the quail 3 weeks ago
