Quail Orphan?

The stickys at the top Tonya mentioned make for good reading. As with most folks who end up here, you crave Input!! It sounds as if you may have taken her post as "read up" before you ask. I'm sure that was not her point. Post up any questions you may have. This is the quail board, more "social" than some of the others. Great place to cry the blues or start a family reunion style brawl !!! (Well, That may only happen at my family reunions

I would have never realized it until you explained. Thanks for having me on board the quail family! (but I will be more visible--I think in the finches section once I get accustomed in the forum here)

Well Lady you hang out where you like, but them finch folks are dull as dish water!!!

Yes, I'ma lover not a fighter... I just love the stickies and I find myself re-reading them, even when I know the answer to something, but I don't want to make a mistake about how I handle the quail. I re-read a lot. I am a mom, broken body...tired all the time, needing input "put back in" due to tired brain and so that is why I always suggest the sticky to everyone who joins us . I am so non conflict, submissive....Let it be known to all here.

By the way, good find... on rescuing a female coturnix...you are in biz now...eggs!!! I rescued/foster cared for our shelter quite a bit, a long time ago.

Monarcs sticky is the shiznit, https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=102281
and Quaillady's site is off the hook - http://www.stellargamebirds.com/

great forum here, sometimes they "rock" and sometimes they "roll". and sometimes just like my family reunions- if someone don't get runover, it aint a party.

welcome and good luck, pretty "first" bird.

Just an update, Dixie the quail is doing well! My 2 local feed stores don't carry gamebird crumble, so I am on a mission to find some. I appreciate the help & the sexing, it's great to reach other enthusiasts on this board!
