Quail pecking other Quails toes

They're Japanese quails, idk if that's coturnix? I haven't introduced any hiding places yet, i was planning on making some today, so far they're separated and are still communicating. I'll try what you suggested and see if it does the trick

Japanese quail are coturnix. Hiding places will help.

Mine did this as well. they peck a lot to let the other birds know they are in the way of the food or water.
I haven't noticed any bloody feet in a while.
