Quail Questions

Hi...

I'm posting this for my son Preston, it's his first year with quails...

Question 1: he is wondering if he can give his quails bath before the fair in august for 4-H for breed class competition. They are courtnix quails (1 cock 5 hens)... one of them is white.

Question 2: dust/sand bath? What kind of sand. Can it be found st Tractor Supply Company Feed store ? How often?

I don't have quail but know folks that do. They do give them baths before the shows. I use play sand in my sand tub that is in their outdoor run. It's always available but I find that my chickens prefer to use dirt holes instead that they created themselves.
