Quail Thread! Button, Coturnix, Bobwhite and More!

Pics
Just had my first quail hatch. It was pretty awesome. I set 50 jumbo brown coturnix eggs in my incubator on 3-13 and had my first one hatch out at 1pm on 3-30. He pipped sometime before 9am and started zipping at 12:50. Ten minutes later he was out.

You can see the pip in the caramel colored egg next to him. 15 minutes later the second one was almost out...

After they hatched several more started zipping. They all fluffed up nicely after several more hours in the incubator.

I ended up hatching 31 quail out of 50 on eggs that were shipped through the mail. It appeared to me that 10-15 of the eggs were not fertile. The last quail hatched out on 4-1 about 24 hours after the previous one hatched. After he fluffed up I put him in the brooder but he didn't make it so I have 30 birds.

Here they are 3 days old. I let them get out in the yard and enjoy the sun for minute.

I have 59 Italian coturnix eggs in the incubator now. Can't wait to hatch them out in another week or so. It has been a fun experience...

Ok, so I have a lot of catching up on raising quail as my Hubbs decided we are probably picking up some today. What one more animal right? I do have a temporary hutch that I believe will work well for keeping them while we rebuild an old chicken coop into a medium sized aviary.
Here are my questions....
1. What do you feed them?
2. Can I keep white and bobwhite together?
3. Do the male's fight like roosters do?
4. How do you sex them? Furthermore, how can you tell male Frome female when full grown?
5. What is an average lifespan?
And if there is any additional info y'all can give please do! I could spend hours looking through info and threads on here but I would rather go straight to the source and ask what I need to know! Thank you thank you thank for your help!

Where did you get your eggs? I would love for anyone to chime in.....

I got those from Orchard Hill Poultry. I have some Italians from myshire farm supposed to hatch tuesday. I just candled them at lockdown and 50 of 59 look good to go so I'm hoping for decent hatch.

I also have some from James Marie farms and some more from O.H.P. that should be hatching at the end of the month.

Update on hatch #2.... ordered 50 Italian coturnix from myshire farm. Recieved 60 with 1 cracked, set 59. Candled at lockdown had 50 good to go, 9 infertile. I hatched out 49 of 50. The last one pipped but still hasn't zipped.... going to give him some more time.

I couldn't believe that many hatched. These eggs were shipped from Ohio to Lower Alabama....

Here's the first one out. He hatched at 7pm on 4-17. The next one hatched at 4am on 4-18, and by 7am about 30 had hatched.....

It's amazing how fast these guys grow. The one on the right is 19 days old and the other hatched this morning.
