If I were hatching for grade schoolers so they could see the miracle of life, I would use buttons, they are easy to give away afterwards for pets. If it were a high school genetics project, I would choose coturnix. This gives quick generations for a thorough look at genetics by.
 
So excited for a quail thread that is AWAKE!!! I'm expecting some jumbo coturnix eggs tomorrow!!!! Can anybody tell me how long to let them sit before I set them in the bator?? Anything special I need to do with shipped eggs? This is my 1st quail hatch!!!
 
Hi everyone! My friend gave us 4 coturnix eggs. We placed one in the incubator sun and 3 Mon. We are excited learning from everyone here. What a great resource. Since we placed them they are tipping downward. Does this mean anything? ???
 
Yes the pointy end. They started just on their sides and are now pointed down.
 
The air sack should be in the big end. Which leaves the weight of the liquid in the point end. Sounds like gravity is working for you. Remember to turn often.
