quails hatching soon! tips?

It's amazing how resilient eggs are, especially quail eggs, and it takes quite a long time for the core temperature to reach the same temperature as the air, so you've got a bit of wiggle room. Enjoy your little cuties as they are adorable and they grow so fast it's crazy!

Thank you so much for reassuring me ^-^ these little babys better make it. When they hatch I'll post the pictures here ^-^

Thought to share my experience (hatching started yesterday) 72 eggs and so far 60 plus hatched. 3 pipped with beak showing but died... Dried Hard and crusty on beak area.. Any ideas why. Pipped thru and getting out side air...
1 I had to dispatch.. Weak and both legs was messed up.

I went dry for the first 15 days humidity was 45.
Then 68 to 71 there after... I still. Got 7 more to go.. hopefully by morning.

BTW this is my 2nd attempt at hatching. First lot was. 24 eggs and ended up with 20 which are 3 weeks old now.

Eggs are from my. Hens.

My. First try. I had humidity too high.. From day 1... Hence small. Air sac. This time the Air sack was perfect.

Got them in my. Living room.. Hear them chirp chirp.. (I am in bed now...) sweet sound.

Aww they are so cute <3 on the 3 that died from what I've read (I have been reading on quail and chick raising, hatching, nursing, and helping for the past 3 weeks waiting for the quails to hatch) I'm pretty sure that the chicks where too weak to get out themselves and needed a bit of help. A common rule that I've heard is to never help a chick hatch but in some cases it gives the little one a chance at life. I've read that after 24 hours of the initial peep or even 30 you may have to carefully assist the chick.

they look really sweet, how hot is the temp i only ask as they are all huddled together under the heater as if they are cold.

Thermostat @ 37defree for first 2 days the 35 degree for a week then drop 5 degree each week there after. They like the heat... Like up and sleep hehehe

Here are the latest pics. Then thing was I wanted to identify the babies of the 2 roos I had.

Hence I marked. My. Eggs and put a divider in the incubator. I marked in With my little girls hair latex band, but after one day... Found it tightening up on their little. Legs. So needed a new plan.. So decided to put divider in brooder.

Had to up the ceramic heater from 75w to 100w since they can't all huddle in a big circle. Below it.

With the fence on an angle we could still hand the waters on both side.

So far really happy.

The 3 week single. Quail is in rehabilitation,. After a cat attack. Just wing tips bleeding.
