thanks Bill,

oh, we got some collection, bout time to take some out to lunch.

I will be giving away the majority of tenn reds, they are beautiful but way too many...

personally, I like the white coturnix and these white bobs are very cool, thats what I may be keeping.
I wanted the jumbo bobs for my buddy, Rob. darn bobwhites they got the coolest whistles. and then I saw that Johnny house video...
Jumbo brown Coturnix for BigJim, he is putting together cages faster than me...

C-birds I like the blue EEs we have and bantam RIR!! my buddy likes his mongrel horde and then grandma Rita is all about her layers, seramas and feather footed bantams. That Craigslist deal pops up and we get the bantam cornish with the chicks...I don't think we will stop til we have 100 birds out there, but 20+ birds are 3+ years old and mostly grainburners. Grandma Rita (Rob's grandma) just smiles out at all the work we do and just loves her birds, see you thought it was all for me, nah, its the hugs, smiles and the sweet-tea that Grandma Rita puts on me that makes me do it.

YES, The fever spiked fast, head was spinning for awhile now. I have moved 2 incubators to a friend's house...

now time for "quality over quantity", white coturnix for me and maybe jumbo browns for BigJim, size-wise I think he has a head start on me

it will give us something to tease each other about, hopefully for a few years.

love her look, is that a red nose pitt?

hey M, and thanks! yes that is "Flo", she is 12+, a chocolate, red-nosed pitbull terrier. we rescued her many years ago, she was bottlefed as a pup.
She has taught me much, if Flo don't like ya- I don't like ya. She is my best girl, till I met Jilly, been through thin and thinner with me and now she is finally getting the spoilin she deserves

Chukars are do'n well. 47 hatched, all on the 2nd. 47 still go'n strong... I got them split up into 3 brooders. As for the corts, I kept all the hens hatched, there were 9... I quit weighing them at 8 weeks but they were 12+ oz then. Weighed on digital scales... The weird thing is 2 of the Roos were right at 14oz. The heaviest of the batch. I have these with the girls. I kept 5 roos all up, Lost 1 to heat on a 100 + day in my shop, they were around 11 oz then...THey live in the boys club. There are 2 of my hens that were on the average side, 9 oz... The rest were 11 and 12 oz. I'm collecting eggs to set Friday eve now. Ozawkiebantams wants some birds for himself and a friend of his and I like to hatch.... I got a feelin you know what I mean.

New QuailShaQ is up and runnin'. It's 3' x 8' with a removable divider in the middle. I used 3/4" vinyl coated welded wire on the front and 1/2" hardware cloth under their feet. No power tool incidents despite comsuming huge amounts of drugs and alcohol. So much for them warnin' stickers on the tablesaw.

Nice bird house Millie, Is this where the new coturnix live, or did they move to the kenmore retirement villa?

awesome structure!
pls allow my construction-dummy question here - are those doors and door frames hanging by the welded wire?
(i ask because we will be in building mode beginning this weekend and a quail hutch is one intended end product)
