we
do need a Quailpedia of Colors, unfortunately, while I can prolly hammer out a mendel square http://www.ndsu.edu/pubweb/~mcclean/plsc431/mendel/mendel1.htm, I have no exotic colors to work with, I am sticking to whites and browns for now. I do like the ranges and tuxedos though, and sybles exotic beauty bird is a real winner...

I had no clue there was so many different colors. Im the only person that I know of that actually raise quail that I know of around were I live. So it was realty nice when I found this web site and I've come to relive that I have a a lot to still learn about quail.

Just something I would like to share. Im assuming that everyone here gives there quail sand to dust and scratch around in. Something I like to do is mix wild bird seed into the sand before I give it to my quail. This gives them a little treat that they realty enjoy. Also about once a week I mix in crushed oyster shell into the sand to help replinish calcium. Hope this gives ya some ideals

I like the seed idea, and will start that with my older Coturnix Quail. The young ones I force feed GBS to until they hit critical mass. I will toss oyster shell in the sand once in awhile. Have been feeding the bobs a lil seed, need to put a big bath in there for them.

I also put DE in my sand, got lots of sand... may have found my signature auction item...

Premium Organic Avian Dust Bathe

Made in the USA.

DE added and full of Organic Matter.

From the East Coast, shipped direct to you, priority mail flat rate.

$2/kg

interesting trades considered.

We need to colaberate names and pictures of all the colors/varieties of Bobs, Cots, and CBBQ. Maybe we coulld get togather a group for a sticky project.

I don't think there are "correct" descriptions just rough discriptions that are, for the most part, universally recognized. If you guys think it's a good idea let me know and I can probably get permission to use some pictures of some neat rare colors of bobs.
