Pics of mine when I first got it-

The lip on the nesting boxes now isn't enough for the amount of shavings that I have in there, so definitely put a nice big lip on your boxes or have them off the ground. I also probably would have put a longer roost or two down the side parallel to the windows, but on the opposite size. This makes it easier to install a poop board.
I'd also make the pop door bigger, because mine is only one chicken wide and they squabble when I let them out in the mornings.

I have seen it called both Quaker and Saltbox style, no idea where the naming comes from

Saltbox is from Colonial times in New England. Maybe someone inadvertently associated with Quakers of that era with plain houses?

But if, as @aart says, you can avoid a hinge on a mostly horizontal surface entirely, so much the better!
