Quality of birds from Sand Hill Perseveration?

DON'T buy from Feather Lover Farms in California either.. they're also huge scammers you may never get your order or refund.. I didn't find the red flags until I was already locked into their ridiculous policy.. But wait they told me they couldn't sen my refund because they were busy taking other orders! I have it ALL in email! :smack

I'm considering making contact with my state attorney general.. Wish I had some recourse, why is false advertising, bait and switch thievery acceptable in the US to be practiced and continued by small and big businesses alike and THEY're the ones being protected WHILE violating the contracts THEY wrote?!!

NPIP doesn't care about shady business.. anyone know WHO is the correct "authority" that might be able to have any impact..

@The Moonshiner sounds like a truly awful experience. Who knew what a clever, fancy name could be hiding! Thank you for sharing.

I'll go out on a limb and say Greenfire farms.. average quality birds but decent business model in MY experience..

@PioneerChicks what breeds are you looking for? You can see Sand Hill Preservation is nothing special.. in terms of quality, but worse than that offers a terrible business model.. that doesn't preserve anything at all. Most of us on here have faced our fair share of breeding challenges including predators and understand them all too well. There is NO justifiable cause for the treatment that's been described by a well known trusted poster. They are scratched off MY list permanently and I suggest you do the same. Anything they have to offer can be found elsewhere and with LESS drama. ;)

I've had GFF birds. I think theyre pretty legit. Just way overpriced and not near the quality of birds ones lead to believe.
Never dealt with FLF. Their prices easily kept me away.

I'm looking for good quality Hollands, heritage Rhode Island Reds (rosecomb if possible), and maybe some Speckled Sussux on the side. I just thought Sand Hill looked nice cause they have all that I want, and claimed to breed to the standard. But I guess ordering from multiple breeders and coordinating well would work too.

I had ordered Some Rhode Island Whites because I wanted another male because my main breeder died from Sand Hill preservation several years ago. They did eventually send me some chicks. I ordered 25 chicks. The said they didn't have 25 so they offered to send me some chicks of other breeds. I didn't want any other breeds. They said they had 18 chicks but were going to send them in two separate shipments and that I needed to send more money to cover the costs of the shipments. I had already paid for 25 RIW chicks plus shipping costs. They did send the 18 chicks in one shipment and did send me a refund for the 7 chicks I didn't receive, but we haggled back and forth for quite awhile. They weren't prompt at answering my emails and when I tried to call them on the phone, I kept leaving messages and they didn't return my calls. A friend ordered some Delawares from them and they didn't have enough to fill his order. I don't remember if he ever got his chicks but instead of sending him a refund they gave him a credit. He wasn't to happy for what it's worth.
