Quarantine/Integrating *Stranger* Chickens

I want to know more about where these chickens are coming from, with all your lines drawn through some statements I've got a feeling there's more to this story....are these chickens shifty? I only took in one shifty chicken and I irritated the everlasting crap out of that woman until i got the answers i needed. I am not suggesting you do the same, but i am saying you should seriously think about doing it.:)
?.....Sorry your statement is confusing?...Who is your reply meant for?...Shifty Birds?...I'm lost...

Shifty, as in horribly kept. Like if someone got chickens on a whim and then did nothing more with the birds. That's what i mean by a shifty chicken. :)

I believe these chickens were used for trade for some mulch or something. The owner doesn't know what to do with them, so him or a worker set up 2 small coops... and separated the whites from the browns.....o_O

An initial look, they don't look underfed or shifty or sketchy... but these guys don't have a clue as to how the hens need to be taken care of and they don't have room to breathe.

Ohhh, ok! Well then that's good at least they're not skinny they're just crowded and apparently segregated for some odd reason. :lau

Just quarantine them, get them tested for worms put the browns back with the whites and cross your fingers...and don't tell them they were traded for mulch that's just terrible. :(
Yep... that's it. Just in the hands of people who don't know what they need......

"Usually I’d say if they have been isolated from contact with other chickens for a month they’ve essentially been in quarantine, but that assumes the current owner wound know a disease or parasite if the symptoms were present. It sounds like you don’t have much confidence in that." Ridgerunner

A very good point.

Also about picking a sacrificial bird to test with, a very good point.

I have added birds numerous times, and got along fine. It can be done, but it is a risk.
