QUES ABOUT CHICKEN DEWORMER

Somewhere within the forum someone posted about worming (couldn't find it) but it stated that you should not eat the eggs for 24 hours after worming the chicks. If I find the site that was referenced, I'll post it.

If you use Ivomec EPRINEX PourOn, there is no meat or milk withdrawal for cattle, so I would say no egg withdrawal, however, there is an INVERMECTIN that does have a withdrawal and most do two or three weeks after the worming is over not eating the eggs. I've never wormed chicks, though, ever.

This is gonna sound strange, but why not be conservative with the chicks and try putting apple cider vinegar in their water as a natural approach until they are older. It needs to be the organic, unfiltered kind. There are natural approaches to worming which you might want to try first, but since they are still young and the worms are not severe, it might be worth trying before using drugs. Anyone have any other thoughts on this approach?

If it works Ill try it..I dont know if mine have worms or not but I figure its safer to treat them in case they do. How do you tell? Look at their feces? Or get them tested? Im guessing

Could you throw the unusable eggs in a compost pile? You'd have to make sure no animals could get into them, but after they turn into compost I'd think it'd be fine to put on the garden. Guessing here obviously.
