poor baby. I'm sorry but duckies and geese are really strong. There's a good chance she'll make it.

Well, the duck, Miss Lucky, is starting to walk a little. She still is in a hospital box in the house. But now spends the days in the back yard by herself. I am afraid to put her with the others yet. I want to see that she is all better before we reintroduce her. I am thrilled that she is now trying to walk.

Warm water baths will help her leg a lot, it relaxes and relieves any pain she may be having. but you do have to keep an eye on her... I gave some of my babies a warm bath a while back and the little dorks fell asleep in the water

She does get a bath everyday. Today she seems even better. The drake is in a cage during the day and out in the yard at night. I leave him out with the 2 older ducks, they have a pool, house and all the bugs they could desire. I haven't decided what to do whith him yet. I hate the idea of killing him, but may have too. Waiting to see if any of the ducklings are drakes.

The drake may have crippled her. Especially if was on dry land. Keep a close eye and keep her fed and hydrated.

Time will tell. Good luck and keep MR. "T" locked up around the babies!

As far as the drake, he is only doing what comes natural. The ducklings should have been kept away from him (not his fault).
If you don't want to keep him, try re-homing to someone who would like him as a pet instead of the axe.

I don't mean to be nasty but people don't rehome birds here, they eat them. She is doing better and walking more so I believe she will make a full recovery.
