Question about candleing

I feel kind of stupid asking this, but are we supposed to candle 7 days after the egg is layed or after it was put in the incubator? Just want to get it right

7 days into incubation you should be able to see some development.
Some folks candle at 10.

i candled mine at day 5 (I got impatient yesterday) and YAY!! All of my duck, chicken, and turkey eggs were able to show whether they were goners or growing!

The goners are in a separate bator, just in case they are "special".

As long as they are not stinking or weeping fluid, I'd hold on to any eggs that you are not sure about.
By day 18 it's pretty clear who is developing. The chick just about fills the egg so not much light shines through other than the air cell.

I candle on day 14 and 18 most of the time. I never candle before day 10.
