Question about candling

I have been looking but can not find what is the best way to candle your eggs? I would live to try this so I know what is going on

I have a small LED flash light and I just cup my hand around the end of it and hold the fat end of the egg up to it. I have also used my light with a reflector hood with a piece of cardboard taped to the top that had a hole cut out to fit the egg, but even when I used low watt bulbs that got pretty hot pretty fast and was kinda bulky and had to be plugged in. The flash light is cheep I think I picked it up at a hard ware store for like 4.99 and it takes 3 AAA battries and I have rechargble ones so I just have one set in use and one set charged and waiting. Cuas the flashlight goes dim after a few candleing but its no problem with rechargble batteries.
