This is Pudgy, he's a cross between a silver spangled hamburg(male) and a barred rock(female). I've been trying to figure out his comb type for some time now, but i'm stumped! It doesn't look like any other comb i've seen before. I can post more pics at different angles if needed.

Thanks!

Are you positive on the parent breeds?

The reason I ask is because he is the wrong color and comb type for that cross also.

A Silver Spangled Hamburg Male over a Barred Plymouth Rock Female would produce offspring that are Barred Males and Black Females and all offspring would have a Rose Comb.

The comb on your bird is a modified Walnut type comb.

I agree.

I was pretty sure she's the mother, but I guess she's not haha. The other chickens we have are dark cornish, red stars, a delaware, and black stars. I've been trying to learn a bit about chicken genetics, but its complicated!

From that list, my guess would be a dark Cornish momma as the other breeds all have straight combs. Can you post a pic of the entire bird, profile shot including legs?
