If one chose to cull a bird that was showing symptoms of a respiratory illness, would the bird's meat then be safe to eat? If it wasn't treated with antibiotics (which I think would survive being cooked), but only had a runny nose and eyes, would the virus or bacteria that caused the symptoms then be killed when the meat is cooked?
Just curious.

I'm considering that this question might be more appropriate in the Managing Your Flock forum, anyone else think so?

Um, I think the bacteria probably would be killed during the cook time but I personally would not eat a sick chicken. I wouldn't want to take that chance.
