I just recently gave 2 dozen fertile eggs to someone... She said she's concerned about them now. She said they are thin and elongated... I have literally had problems cracking them sometimes they are so thick... So I don't know what she means. I also thought that all chickens laid their own shaped egg and there isn't a general shape they're supposed to be. So do these look normal to you? I also have some eggs In the incubator on day 8 that are all developing beautifully all from the same chickens I got her eggs from.

I think the concern for incubating long skinny eggs is the chick may not be able to get positioned correctly to hatch. You might try posting on the incubating eggs section for more input.

Thank you I'll check :) do they look normal or weird to you?!

These eggs look totally normal to me. If you know from past experiences that the shells are fine, I wouldn't fret over it....my 2 cents worth.

Some eggs are rounder than others, donrae has a point (haha) about possible difficulty of hatch position.

Has she told what her specific concern is?

There's a lot of blather going around lately about pointier eggs being all roosters, which is ridiculous, but that doesn't stop the inaccurate conjecture.

No she didn't address a specific concern she was just being very rude telling me the shape of their eggs were connected to parasites and or poor diet. Which they don't have either haha
