Question about Niacin and/or Brewers Yeast for Ducks

i have some baby ducks that mama hatched out. they are about 3 weeks old ,i noticed 2 days ago that one of the babies foot was folded up and was having trouble walking .

i finally found some niacin at a health food store started them on niacin yesterday and he is already using his foot im so happy i was so afraid he was going to be crippled!!

How does poultry feed work? Today the UFA wasn't open and it carries "16% Duck Finisher" which I needed for my 10 week old ducklings.
I had to make an emergency stop at a different store and the billboard said chicken scratch, turkey rtn (ration), layer pellets, chicken spl (supplement), poultry rtn, chick starter. The only 16% was the Poultry Rtn, so I got this.
It doesn't say the niacin content on the tag, so I'm not sure if it's the right kind. Will Rtn work? Do I need to make an emergency stop tomorrow to get different feed? Does it contain enough niacin? Unfortunately the tag was not descriptive

the little guy with the bad foot is back to normal and doesnt even have a limp now they will continue to get the niacin. so happy i found the tablets!

i know people have sprinkled it on their food ,probably could put it in the water just make sure it dissolves

Yea I put it in their food but it seems to just go straight to the bottom and all clump up because they get water in the feed and I don't think they are getting enough of it. I'll try some in the water tomorrow and keep an eye on them. Thank you

It's probably going to stink in the water and unless they empty the water and drink it all you are going to have waste...

Instead, possibly try using a spray bottle to mist the food then sprinkle the yeast on it, the misting of the food should cause the yeast to stick and as long as you don't get it 'wet' it should not promote any mold growth as it should dry back out in no time... Or you can make a portioned 'mash' of wet feed and yeast that they will consume within 12 hours and let them eat that...

They do drink all the water I have 7 ducklings and it's always empty within an hour or so some days .. and also I didn't think of mashing up the food with that I'll give that a try maybe at least then I know it won't go to waste they're greedy little buggers hehe
