Question for Christians

Some folks think they're on the express train to the pearly gates and it's their job to remind you of that.

Fair chance some of them could hear the scariest words in the book.....

‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Not my job to judge. I've heard when I point a finger at someone, there's three more pointing straight back at me.

Very true and it says we will be judged by how we judge others, so best to be careful.

That statement just reminded me of the verse about the hyppocrites who prayed loudly on the street corners  SO people would see and hear them praying (doing it for attention). Or people who openily give generously  SO other people would think more highly of them, instead of having humility and the right motives.

Not knocking publicly sharing the gospel on a street corner in any way, but I think your actions should do most of the talking at first (showing love, compassion, humility, etc). Then you might open some doors to some genuine conversations, verses sitting on a high horse and just condemning people straight to hell. Jesus was the King of Kings but he lived his entire life as a servant...

Your last paragraph is right on. Jesus said "do what you see me doing," as He apprenticed His disciples. He did not teach them to stand on the street corner shouting, "You! You're going to hell!" No, He met their needs. He healed their diseases, raised the dead, restored hearing and vision, visited the sick, socialized with the poor and lonely and homeless and outcast and assured them of God's love." Then He lay down His life for them - for us. That's why we love Him. Because He first loved us. Not because we deserve it, but because Love is Who He is.
