Question for smokers

I see what you are saying. However:

Everyone farts

and

A fart never killed anyone or made them have and asthma attack

I can smell a smoker a mile away. Regardless of the brand. True, some brands are worse than others, but they all stink!
I have asthma and I am extremely allergic to cigarette smoke. I work with patients who want to smoke yet deal with the difficulties and need to continue. However, I dont think smokers realize how little they have to do to affect some people. Just walking into a restaurant or store can make me sick. Even if people are trying to be nice and smoke away from the entrance. Depending on the wind it doesnt make a difference. Also people in cars smoking with your windows down, the wind can carry that to every other car at a stoplight or stop and go traffic. And the smokers sitting in cars in the parking lot smoking. Everyone that walks by or parks next to you get to enjoy that little cancer stick with you. Please, if you smoke think about more than just how far away from the entrance of a building you are!

Thank you!

Honestly..i think some folks are a little dramatic about it...

Proof I'd say, is that when I was smoking a pack of Marlboros a day, and my mom didn't know I smoked. I would smoke in the car on the way to her house, and simply not smoke in front of her.....if she knew, she would definitely say something!!!!
(even if she didn't say it to my face, she would talk about me to my little sister behind my back, because she talked about my other sister when she smoked. I asked my sister if she talked about me that way, and my sis said "I don't think she knows you smoke")

What!! Ya think?? I can understand non smokers complaing about people smoking in buildings but complain becuase someone is driving down the road in there own car!! Wow, just wow!!

OK... so the car thing I will take that as too far.... My point wasn't to mean that smokers should not to be allowed to smoke Anywhere. Just to be respectful to non smokers. to non-smokers. There are a lot of smokers who are not respectful and everyone has to admit that!

And you know I do agree with you that there are some people that are just rude about it. I'm a smoker and try to be respectful walking away from crowds, never throwing my butts on the ground etc. But people wonder why smokers get po'ed and get on the defensive when stupid comments are made!!

All I can say is Whatever.

Nothing is gonna change by talking about it here anyways!

People will still smoke.

Smokers will always be defensive because they want their "Right" to do what they want.

And me along with all the other nonsmokers will still complain about it!

I do appreciate the respectful smokers and wish all of you the strength and will power to quit at your own will.

Godbless and Godspeed

I started smoking in my 30's. Yep real intelligent, but I lived with an enhaler up until then. Second hand smoke made me ill, but I grabbed one up to be a smart a$$ and it didn't bother me as much as everyone smoking around me.

I worked in food & beverage long enough thought that if someone intentionally walked up to a customer to fat in their face I would be making sure it didn't happen again during a wedgie removal from the premises. Matter of fact if someone did it to me I'd be having them removed with a complaint after they paid for my fillet mignon and lobster tails. Oh and my creme brulle. And I tip pretty darn good.

Have to stop reading this thread. Made me want a cigarette and it was cold out there.
