Have you ever written a formal letter outside of a work environment? (like to a college admissions board, government official, newspaper editor, etc...)

Probably? I don't remember, lol.

I mean technically yes? When I was in fifth or sixth grade I wrote a letter for school to the national park service asking for information about wild horses in the park. I actually got a lovely reply, and probably still have the info somewhere.
