Question on egg consumption..

Yes!

It doesn't matter if the eggs are fertile or not. What matters is if they have been incubated or not.

So as long as I take the eggs every day..When they start coming. I don't have to worry about finding a developing duck.

You probably couldn't tell the difference after 3 or 4 days of incubation, actually...
