Question on feeding yogurt

I feed yogurt to my chickens, my dogs and the cats. It's good for them.
ETA: I should have said dog. Our pup can't have it yet, as he has the typical GSD sensitive tummy.

I have found that the biggest concern is being sure not to stand too close when the go after it. It is really a show!

what would be the best container for this? i used the lid from the yogurt cup this first time, but clearly it is not ideal because they walk in it and get shavings in it and then can't find it (and shriek about it!). i don't care about the dirt because, let's face it, they eat lots of dirt. but a lot of the yogurt was wasted because it was stuck to shavings. so obviously i need to set it on something taller instead of the floor, but they're so pushy they'll knock it right off. so any thoughts of something clever to use? dry food treats i would just scatter and let them scratch for it but this is a lot messier.

Are yall feeding them PLAIN yogurt, or can you feed them flavored too?

I use the plastic lids off of Ice Cream pails or the lids off of Kemps Sherbet containers. I use the pails for hauling feed, drinking water for the dogs and for filling wild bird feeders. Ice cream pails are so useful !!!!!!

When the girls were little, I used a small white custard cup (sides about 2 1/2" tall). I soaked about 2 tbsp. of their crumbles in warm water to soften, then added 2 tbsp. of plain yogurt to that. They made less mess that way. Now that they're older and living in the run/coop, I do the same thing, but put it into a big stoneware bowl with fairly high sides so no one is tempted to get in and scratch with their feet. And, yes, you can feed them yogurt with fruit in it, but you must sprinkle some grit on it if you do. Plain yogurt does not require grit.

I don't feed the flavored yogurt because of the amount of sugar and/or artificial sweeteners in it. Best to stick with the plain, IMO.​

I save tuna cans for chicken yogurt. It's nice and deep so they can really get a beak full. If I put down two servings they rush from can to can in case the "other one" is better.
