So I have a thermostat controlling my heat lamp if it get over 100* degrees in my brooder the lamp will turn off. Is that okay? The bulb i have is only 150 watt. And at night keeps the brooder a steady 89* degrees but in the day time it can heat it well over 100. Idk ifnits okay for the 13 day old chicks to be without the light even though the ambient room temp is warm.

As they get older, they need less and less heat. Do they have a place to get away from the heat lamp? A high heat lamp can cause problems, like pasty butt.
They can get away from the heat lamp yes but it will probably push the box up to 105 pr maybe even 107 without the thermostat to turn it off.

It needs to be cooler. 90 degrees at most.

If chicks are as far from the heat lamp as possible, then they are too hot. If they spend all of their time under their heat lamp, they are too cold.

Watch the chicks. They will show you how hot/cold it needs to be. But 100 is way too hot, especially for chicks that are 2 weeks old. What's the temp of the room around the brooder?

Cool thanks so of i set the ambient temperature to 90 in my box I should be good? Even if the lights turn off at 90* at night they stay on all night keeping the ambient temp 89 or maybe see what an 100 watg incandescent bulb does instead the 150 heat lamp.

You want JUST the area directly under the lamp to be the 85(ish) temp. The "cool" side needs to be room temp....like around 70 at maximum. The must be able to get completely away from the heat.

Pictures of your brooder would help.
