I have 1 pair of Aussie Spots (who I hatched last year in my Hovabator incubator) and they are a male and female pair. (I just looked closely and saw his drake feather for sure last week.) He's a green head and she's a silver head...She has laid an egg/day for 6 days now in a nest I made for them inside of our "small duck" pen and the dog house they have for shelter. I hope the eggs are fertile and that she decides to set soon...Does anyone have experience with these ducks? I do know he's protective and tells the 4 Mandy guys and gals to get away from that doghouse

I never see them "together"

so I'm not sure if they are fertilized eggs- they are her first ones laid too.
Any words of wisdom from anyone?

Thanks
I went to 'uploads' and did that. I forgot how I used to do it though.
Thanks for helping.

Cute! They look like Blue Heads (the female definitely is). I have Aussie Spots too. I have had them for almost ten years now. They are one of my favorite ducks I have ever had. Mine started laying a couple weeks ago too. I think I am going to let some of mine hatch out some of their eggs this year too.

They might be Blueheads. I was just guessing that they were green and silver...I don't know much about them yet, just what I read here and from online pics. I sure hope she sets...how many do they usually lay before setting?

I would imagine that 12-15 is average. I generally don't let mine sit though. I pull the eggs. I think average laid per hen when you pull the eggs is probably around 75-85 per year.

If I don't pull these, and let her set, then after the babies are hatched
