I keep food and water in there , do you think they would find it In The dark ?They don't need to see when they are sleeping.
They won't (need to) eat or drink at night either.I keep food and water in there , do you think they would find it In The dark ?
They usually sleep through the night and don’t eat or drink. They fill the tank just before going to bed.I keep food and water in there , do you think they would find it In The dark ?
I will try explaining that to my midnight snacking lady!Chickens can't see in the dark and not even in super low light so when they're on the roost, just cut the light and they won't likely do any sleep walking, late night snacking. Allow them to get a full night sleep in dark, their bodies need the break. Not sure what your setup is but you might want to lock up food since they're not going to eat anyway, as it will potentially draw all kinds of pests and predators.
I don't follow how it would stress them. I have brooded with an incandescent light for heat and they did fine.No that will stress them out
There's always one goof ball...I will try explaining that to my midnight snacking lady!
But generally I agree they stay in their roost until it gets light.
