not sure i'm posting in the right area, but how does one find out where you can keep ducks as pets..? my parents are looking for a new house to buy and my mom found one she likes but we aren't sure if we can keep ducks there... thanks

Call the city or county government. Most have an information center, though that may just be the mayor's secretary or the county clerk. Ask them. Or ask to speak to the animal control officer, whoever enforces the animal regulations.

In San Diego, it's in the municipal code which can be obtained online or through the library's computers. You can also ask the code enforcement officer to make sure.
