How do i tell if my chicken has a sour crop??? Thanks!

Open his mouth, amd smell...

Sour crop will be enlarged and when you feel the crop, it will feel like a water filled balloon. They also become less active and tend to puff out...generally, they don't look well either but feel the crop. If if is big and feels like a water filled balloon it is sour crop and if it is large and very hard feeling, it is more likely impacted crop.

Every night i go to lock the coop up her crop is very large and hard but then its normal the next day......is this normal? her crop is kinda squishy and small right now, i tried smelling her breath and it smells normal.

Sounds like she's going to bed with a full crop. That's normal I think....

Yep...if it is gone by morning it sounds like a normal full crop. If it was sour or impacted crop, it would still be there in the morning.
